Northern Lights public film project launches
Budding Scottish filmmakers are being called upon to contribute to the making of a feature-length documentary film about life in the country.
With a nod to Kevin MacDonald's Life in a Day project, Northern Lights is seeking the public's "personal videos about Scotland’s past, present and future". As part of the Year of Creative Scotland 2012 there will be £10,000 in prize money available to people who upload particularly noteworthy clips before the project's submission deadline of 21 June 2012.
Director Nick Higgins explains the project below.
Videos can be uploaded via the project website, where you can also find tips, tutorials and details of workshops being run by the Northern Lights team - including how to film on an iPhone at the Apple Store, Glasgow.
