Lots of new series due from Sky Atlantic, but will they tempt new subscribers aboard? Awake, due on 4 May, stars Jason Isaacs as Detective Michael Britten, who lives in two parallel worlds after surviving a car accident. However, its debut on NBC in the States met with limited success. "There's a risk Awake is too high-concept for US networks," said Isaacs. "If it flops I'll live with it." ... Veep finds Armando Ianucci penning political satire for the Americans, and stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus (from Seinfeld) as US vice-president Selina Meyer. It just started airing on HBO in the States, and will probably appear in the UK in June... Hit and Miss is Sky Atlantic's first original drama, due later this year, and was created by Paul Shameless Abbott. Chloe Sevigny stars as Mia, "a pre-op transsexual contract killer"... and then there's Walking and Talking, a comic four-part autobiography by Kathy Burke taking its cue from her 2010 film Little Cracker. Due in the summer.
