Unsigned bands and solo artists from Scotland have a week left to submit applications for a chance to play the T Break Stage at this year's T in the Park festival. Bands that have previously got their big break on the stage include Biffy Clyro, Paolo Nutini and Snow Patrol - one of this year's headliners.
Bands and artists can upload demo tracks to music-sharing site Soundcloud before submitting an online application [1] to 14 music industry judges through the T Break website - or, for the first time ever, Facebook [2]. The final 16-act lineup will be announced in May.
Edinburgh's Cancel the Astronauts - whose fab new single is up for preorder [3] this week before a 16th April release, incidentally - played the stage last year. "It was a great experience to be involved in - to be part of Scotland's biggest music festival was a very special thing," they said. "We would advise any unsigned band to enter."
T in the Park takes place from July 6-8 this year. Other headliners include Kasabian and the Stone Roses.
